Up 300, down 350, up 275, down 380! This is absolute madness.

Look, the crew here at AmeriGobble is feeling a bit queasy from all the market volatility lately. Our nerves are shot!

Does anybody really know what is going on? Things can not really change overnight can they? One day everybody is in a buying frenzy and the next day there is a freefall. Does anybody buy to hold any more? You know, buy some shares of a company you like and are a customer of. A company you want to be a part of for a long time.

The market these days has become machine driven with million share transactions happening in milli-seconds. The personal aspects of owning shares in a company are gone. And with it the Joe-six pack investor who no longer trusts Wall Street. Or at least soon.

Why would any sane Gobbler take the risk! Wall Street has gotten away from the basic fundamentals that Joe-six pack understands. That’s right, companies that provide a valuable product or service for society resulting in a profit are good. That is all that really matters, and that is what this Joe-six pack investor understands and is going to continue to believe.

Well Sir, the taxes talk has reached a fever Gobble around the country and here at AmeriGobble. With all the debt, deficits and endless red-ink bleeding us all dry, we are finally being confronted with the task having to pay it all back as a country.

So far there has been a lot of Gobbling going on in Washington, with no solutions. The current theory seems to be either tax the rich or cut spending, or both. Pretty simple, right? Not with 14+ Trillion dollars of debt.

So now the battle in Washington has become the “Job Creators” vs. the non-job creators. Us vs. them. Them vs. us. The only problem with this is we currently have historically low tax rates and have for some time, but the “Job Creators” still have not created jobs.

All I know is that every American owes some part of that debt and part of the future debt, and we ought to get something done about it soon. We all need to pay it off and get out of debt. Create a surplus, invest in the infrastructure without debt, create value for all citizens, and realistically be able to lower taxes for all and continue America’s leadership role in the world.

The us vs. them just is not going to get it done. The rich need to realize that many of those trillions are in their pockets so a little sacrifice would be nice. And for the people that pay nothing, well, everyone needs to contribute something. That’s what made America Great in the first place. We each need to create a value at an individual level and we will all be prosperous and happy Americans. Is it class warfare to ask for some sacrifice from all? No, it just make good sense.

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!

How about Detroit! Nice start. Yessss Sir! And Buffalo, well nice game from the crew here at AmeriGobble! Don’t forget the Raiders either! And what about San Francisco. Not pretty, but 2-1 right now looks good.

This looks like a great season unfolding before our eyes! Of course it is early, but we’re looking to gobble for the under-turkey, so to speak. Give us a Gobble and let us know who you think is going to be the pleasant surprise of the season.

Wouldn’t it have sent a better message just to have saved the money? Just because you have money doesn’t mean you have to spend it, whether the program is ending our not. We sure hope somebody did the due diligence in vetting these loans.

One thing is for sure, these projects will be watched closely by the country and their outcomes will certainly have ramifications on the next elections. What do you think about this move? Has it left you bewildered like it has us here at AmeriGobble? You’ve got be kidding me, right?

The crew here at AmeriGobble headquarters had a revelation today, or should we say a prolonged and vigorous gobbling session, regarding the announcement of Vladimir Putin’s candidacy for President of Russia. Again!

As we were discussing this week’s edition of Crazy or Crazy like a Fox, it dawned on us that Putin has the global field beat hands down when it comes to parlaying crazy with a crazy like a fox acumen! After all, who else on the planet has the kind of power that Putin does over an entire country and its political process? Is there even any doubt that he will win the Presidential election in a landside and rule Russia for 12 more years!

Imagine trying to debate with Putin for the Presidency of Russia. Now that would be something to see. Would anybody disagree or challenge him? We think not! Maybe good old ex VP of the USA, tough guy and AmeriGobble certified Crazy or Crazy like a Fox perennial Dick Cheney would have the nerve, but would anybody else?

Putin is a fascinating person and we look forward to many more years of Gobbling about him here at AmeriGobble, and that is the kind of Crazy that we like.

Rick brings Rick, no matter what. He is not sugarcoated. He talked about the possibility of Texas seceding from the country he now wants to be President of after all. He called Social Security a Ponzi scheme! Sometimes it seems crazy, sometimes it seems genuine, yet here he is at the top of the Republican polls.

He is definitely a Texas politician no matter how you slice it. We’re still unsure if his no government is good government type of talk will win over the masses, but it looks like Rick has the base all lathered up. If he can parlay his national emergence into the Presidency, then he will indeed be crazy like fox.

Not many guys in the league take more hits than Romo! He shrugged off the ones from the media and fans all week and the ones from the Niners D on Sunday! He and Dallas Cowboys brought there A game to SF. Even with a rib injury, he rallied the troops, threw some pretty looking passes and came up big with the long pass to seal the deal in OT.

When he is on and in a rhythm, he is among the best QB’s in the game. When he’s not it can get ugly, but at AmeriGobble we like players that can stand up to the criticism and then deliver. Nice game Tony!

As details emerge from the Solyndra bankruptcy inquiry, the crew here at AmeriGobble have been Gobbling about the potential long lasting impacts of this story. Anytime an American company goes under it is a sad day for our country, especially with unemployment being so high. This failure, however, seems to have greater ramifications for the USA.

Remember this was all about green jobs. Well, a bunch of them just evaporated before our eyes! That, of course, is the first and greatest ramification, but let’s explore the others.

Can we compete manufacturing the clean technologies of the future or have we already lost that battle to China. Will we even be able to compete on the installation end of things? What role should government have in giving or loaning tax payer dollars to unproven starts ups? What is President Obama’s role in the decision to fund Solyndra and what does it say about his business acumen. How will this story impact the upcoming elections? Can green manufacturing survive in the USA without government subsidies and low wages?

This story is making our heads spin here at AmeriGobble! What’s your take on the lasting impact of this story?

Obama finally plays hard ball with the GOP! But, can a deficit agreement ever be reached with the current cast of legislators in office?

President Obama has finally changed strategies. Demand something in return for something else, just like the GOP leadership does. Tax increases for millionaires in exchange for spending cuts. That’s the only way things seem to get done in Washington these days. The GOP has, with just a House majority, set the rules for this game of chicken and now Obama has upped the ante instead of giving in like he has done to recent GOP demands.

At AmeriGobble we have been wondering if the current cast of characters will ever resolve the budget / deficit / debt debate. Both camps are now so entrenched that compromise has never seemed so far apart. Or, is the budget and deficit talk all just campaign rhetoric at this point, with both sides realizing that no agreement will be reached until after the election?

Will sending a different group of rich partisan political hacks from either party to Washington even make a difference?

This fiasco is getting downright embarrassing and we deserve better!
